This Lodge Is One Of The Few Muslim Friendly Self Catering Lodges In The UK
The Waterside lodge is a private enterprise owned by a Muslim business man who was born and raised in the county of Lancashire in the UK. In the quest for an holiday home in Scotland, Waterside Lodge was discovered. It boasts modern amenities with the house attached to a lake in the village of Lochmaben. According to the owner of the Lodge, "with increasing demand from friends and colleagues, it was decided that the Waterside Lodge be made available as a holiday home to the public."
The Waterside Lodge is one of the few Muslim friendly, self catering lodges in the UK and according to the owner of the lodge, "there is a global increase in the quest for 'Halal Holidays' which essentially is a place where Muslims have the confidence and comforts of the dietary and lifestyle requirements for a 21st century Muslim." The founder further adds that the Lodge "is in no way a Muslim exclusive offering" but because he still uses it as an holiday home, he prefers to retain his home comforts for whenever he uses the lodge with his family.
On the company's website, Waterside Lodge is described as "a very homely property, ideal for a family, large or small."
The company further adds that, "everyone at Waterside Lodge can enjoy a range of activities. The life of the property is in the open plan lounge which combines the kitchen area into the living space. Enjoy an afternoon in front of the TV, stroll outside onto the fully furnished decking areas and garden, or immerse yourselves with some of the books or board games."
All the bedrooms at the Lodge is said to include wardrobes, bed side storage, extra bed linen and towels for all guests.
The company said because the Lodge is a halal holiday destination sought for by members of the Muslim community, they take great care in ensuring the home is kept in a clean and comfortable condition with a marked Qibla direction, prayer mats, the Qur'an and prayer beads made available for guests to the lodge.
