Estonian Modest Fashion Blogger And Revert To Islam Shared Her Inspiring Story

Eileen Lahi, who is also known as Eslimah is an Estonian modest fashion blogger who reverted to Islam about five years ago and relocated to Qatar after she got a teaching job there, she is now married to a Muslim man she met in Qatar (May GOD bless her marriage in every way, Amin), and she shared the following inspiring story of her experience on her Instagram page: 

" A million times over: follow what you believe is the right choice for your life, even if it may not be the easiest.

Reverting has not been the only life changing decision I have made. Moving here was as well. I have never shared this, but honestly, I was terrified. Anyone who knows me, knows I like the familiar and the comfortable and the known. I do not embrace change easily. 

I came to this country more than a year ago, all alone. I had never visited before, I had no idea what it would be like. First job. First time living on my own. Not a single friend, nor family member. Not even knowing where the nearest supermarket existed. Not having a clue about what was expected of me or how to call an empty apartment a home.

I do read every single word, message and letter that you ever write to me. And heartache as well as loneliness are tragedies that weary the hearts of so many. It is not easy. I know that like the back of my hand. It can eat you up alive, paralyze you to an extent in which you grow numb and blind to all the blessings you actually do possess. It has a way of making you hard. It has a way of overtaking your entire being, and all the people around you, telling you "One day it shall be alright. One day you shall come to understand" do not really mean much to you. Those of you who followed me back then, know what a train wreck I was. And that's OK. I struggled to find my place in this world, both before reverting and after and actually thought I would never find it. And all praise be to God, I have finally found what I was praying for all my life: contentment with what is decreed. And someone to compliment my existence. 

If there is one thing I do know with certainty, it is that your hardship will mold and form and shape you in ways you would never think possible. And when you think you can not possibly bear another moment, you still live another day. You will face things that you thought impossible. 

My sister, this life was never meant to be simple, but I promise you that if you persevere, ease will come. Fight for what you believe in. Each one of us has our own obstacles to overcome. I am sharing with you one of mine, telling you to overcome yours."

Her decision to relocate to Qatar reminded us of this verse in the Qur'an: (Surah An-Nisa, verse 97):

"When angels take the souls of those who die in sin against their souls, they say: "In what (plight) were ye?" They reply: "Weak and oppressed were we in the earth." They say: "Was not the earth of ALLAH spacious enough for you to move yourselves away (From evil)?" Such men will find their abode in Hell,- What an evil refuge!"

If you are currently in a place where it is extremely difficult for you to practice Islam and serve GOD in the way your heart yearns to, GOD's earth is spacious enough for you to move yourselves away from evil, and may GOD guide us all to the straight way, and give us the courage to make the right decisions at the right times in every aspect of our lives, Amin.
